CESSRST is Cooperative Science Center (CSC) funded by the NOAA Educational Partnership Program with Minority Serving Institutions (EPP/MSI). The Center is a consortium of universities, dedicated to advancing research and education in Earth systems observations, modeling, and environmental sciences. The participating institutions are geographically distributed across the nation and have a strong commitment to fostering diversity, with a high enrollment of students from communities traditionally under-represented and historically excluded in STEM and the NOAA workforce.
CESSRST CAMPUS LOCATIONS
● City College of New York, New York, NY (CCNY - Lead Institution)

a. Satellite and radar data assimilation
b. In-situ and ground-based remote sensing of atmospheric composition, and satellite atmospheric composition product validation and algorithm development.
c. Severe weather and hydrology applications
d. Satellite remote sensing of atmospheric soundings, including trace gasses
e. Modeling and/or observations of atmosphere-land-sea interactions, especially in coastal urban environments or the arctic
f. Remote sensing technology and algorithm development with environmental/ Earth science applications.
g. Climate and environmental impact studies on health, infrastructure, and/or economy employing social science methodologies and data science techniques.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
