Job Description

This research contract position will primarily focus on a new GulfSCEI project aimed at AI Automation to detect Flood Deficiencies in Flood Water Control Structures.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

60% - participate in the design, plan, coordination, and implementation of tasks in support of the project;

5% - supervise the research of undergraduate and/or graduate students;

10% - prepare reports for Federal agency and drafting of research papers for publication;

5% - participate in technical meeting with funding federal agency 

5% - present papers at conferences;

5% - assist in developing research proposals to funding agencies;

10% - performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related field at is required by the date of hire. Expertise in Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, and AI is expected.

Desired Qualifications: Expertise in Environmental Modeling and experience with DoD research and development activities, especially the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE.

Salary: Salary Negotiable

Appointment Period: The appointment period is for one-year (01/01/24-12/31/24). The position is renewable for up to 3 years based on availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
