Postdoctoral Position in Protoplanetary Disks

The Institute for Astrophysical Research in the Department of Astronomy at Boston University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate who will work with Prof. Catherine Espaillat on observations and modeling of protoplanetary disks. Preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience with ultraviolet or infrared observations of protoplanetary disks and/or disk modeling.

The successful candidate will receive mentoring, career development, and networking opportunities that include advising undergraduates, interacting with faculty, graduate students, and researchers at Boston University and other Boston-area institutions. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also have access to Boston University’s facilities, including the 4.3m Lowell Discovery Telescope and 1.8m Perkins Telescope at Lowell Observatory.

The initial appointment is for one year, which can be extended up to two additional years contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance. The appointment start date is negotiable, but needs to begin no later than Fall 2024. A PhD is required by the start date.
