Postdoctoral Position of Mass Spectrometry in Yansheng Liu Lab at the Department of Pharmacology, Yale School of Medicine

The Liu lab at the Department of Pharmacology, Yale School of Medicine, seeks postdoctoral applicants with a passion for mass spectrometry-based spatial proteomics research. The overarching goal of this position is to work with the members in the Liu Lab and other talented researchers at Yale to achieve scientific excellence in revealing fundamental biological roles of protein local environments, protein abundance and lifetime, as well as protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) underlying diseases and in translational medicine.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate is expected to Develop and apply innovative MALDI-imaging mass spectrometry (MS) approaches in an entirely new platform of timsTOF Flex MALDI-2 instrument. The successful candidate will have completed or will soon complete their Ph.D. degree and should have extensive experience in maintaining and troubleshooting high-resolution MS instruments, particularly the timsTOF or the MALDI imaging MS. Hands-on experience in sample preparation and conducting MALDI-imaging MS analysis is preferred. However, significant experience with other mass spectrometers will also be considered. The candidate is expected to have strong English writing and communication skills, strong motivation in scientific research, and a commendable publication record.

Dr. Liu has a total citation of >8000 times to date and is the recipient of ASMS Research Award, HUPO ECR Award, and US HUPO Robert J. Cotter Award.
