Postdoctoral Fellowship in Global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Position: Postdoctoral Fellow
Location: Carnegie Mellon University – Doha, Qatar Campus
Timeframe: 12-month contract beginning in August 2024 with possibility of renewal
The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar is seeking a postdoctoral fellow. This postdoctoral position aims to prepare the candidate for future globally-minded DEIB research and practice. 
Responsibilities:
1:1 undergraduate teaching load, most likely 1 DEIB-focused course and 1 in the candidate's discipline
Provide service to the campus community through DEIB initiatives (for example, developing and delivering relevant DEIB workshops or working with student groups)
Collaborate to conduct internal DEIB research for the campus
Develop own research agenda based on candidate’s future goals
Qualifications:
PhD required with demonstrated engagement with DEIB in scholarship or coursework. Field of specialization is open but may include cultural studies, English, sociology, education, psychology, Middle Eastern studies, or other relevant or multi-disciplined programs. 
Demonstrated excellence in teaching or course support.
Previous experience in organizing or developing DEIB-related initiatives. 
Demonstrated cultural competency across multiple communities. Experience working within underrepresented/marginalized communities is a plus. Experience developing DEIB frameworks to meet global campus/community needs is a plus. Experiences in the Middle East region and/or Arabic language are a plus. 
Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong professional ethics are required.
Ability to effectively work across a wide variety of constituency groups and organize support for goals and plans.
