Posting Context Statement
The Pacific Northwest Herbicide Resistance Initiative is a multi-year project with extensive focus on herbicide resistance surveys and screening for herbicide resistance, as well as a number of weed ecology projects to be implemented in the field and greenhouse.
Position Overview
The Weed Science Post-Doctoral Associate will provide support for the weed science program in conducting herbicide resistance surveying and screenings, as well as research on weed management practices for row crop and forage production systems in southern Idaho.

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • Experience with professional writing and presentations.
  • Experience with computer proficiency.

Required Education
  • Ph.D. degree in weed science, crop science, agronomy, or plant science
Required Other
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Hold or be able to obtain an Idaho Pesticide Applicator’s License within 6 months of hire

Additional Preferred
  • Experience conducting herbicide resistance surveying and screening
  • Experience with small plot field research, experimental design, data collection and analysis
  • Proficiency in using R or similar analytical statistics software
  • Proficiency in using ARM trial management software

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work in warm and humid conditions for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift and carry, or otherwise move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for up to one hour while standing or seated at lab bench
Degree Requirement Listed degree qualification is required at time of application
