Posting Context Statement
The Special Education Program in the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences is pleased to offer a post-doctoral scholar position. This 12-month position includes responsibilities involving research, teaching, and program development.
Position Overview
The initial appointment will be for one year, renewable for a maximum of one additional year upon satisfactory performance. Position is available starting in summer 2024 (official start date is negotiable). This post-doctoral position will provide a scholar with an opportunity to follow their research agenda, make meaningful contributions to an inclusive post-secondary education program, write grants, and gain experience with university teaching. It may also include opportunities to collaborate with the Center of Disabilities and Human Development, which is Idaho’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) and affiliated with the college.

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • Teaching in higher education
  • Working with students with disabilities in the K-12 setting

Required Education
  • Doctoral Degree in Special Education or related field
Required Other
Additional Preferred
  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
  • Experience teaching special education in the K-12 setting
  • Experience working with inclusive post-secondary education programs
  • Experience with grant writing and procuring external funding
  • Experience using educational technology
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong collaborative skills.
