The Department of Movement Sciences within the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences at the University of Idaho promotes and advances careers in healthy active living, science, performing art, patient care, and community engagement through degrees in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism Management (RSTM), Exercise, Sport, and Health Sciences (ESHS), and Dance; and Masters’ in Movement & Leisure Sciences (M.S.), Physical Activity Pedagogy (M.Ed.), and Athletic Training (M.S.A.T.).
Position Overview
A one-year (12 month) post-doctoral position is available to join the Human Performance Laboratory to support research efforts in female physiology specifically with regard to nutrition and exercise. More specifically, the post-doctoral fellow will support current research efforts aimed at investigating premenopausal female health ramifications and lifestyle behaviors associated with normal weight obesity. The long-term goal of the lab is to develop evidence-based dietary and/or exercise interventions, informed in part by the results of current research projects, to improve physical and physiological health of women of all ages. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Ann Brown in the Department of Movement Sciences at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho and is expected to seek and write grants, oversee research projects, publish findings in peer reviewer journals and support the Human Performance Laboratory team.

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • Documented evidence of publications and grant writing experience.
  • Experience working with a collaborative laboratory team.
  • Record of human subject’s research experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on grants and manuscripts.
Required Education
  • PhD degree in Exercise physiology, kinesiology, or exercise science with a focus in nutrition or related field.
Required Other
  • Ability to be present on the Moscow, Idaho campus 3-5 days per week with the option for some remote working.
Additional Preferred
  • Demonstrates knowledge of body composition analysis.
