Position Summary
A full-time Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Cristina Landeta in the Microbiology Program at Indiana University Bloomington to study oxidative protein folding in bacteria. The successful applicant will be involved in the study of disulfide bond formation in bacteria and microbial communities. We are interested in understanding the role of this process in bacteria and disrupting disulfide bond-forming enzymes with small molecules using high throughput methods.

Basic Qualifications
Information about the Landeta lab is at: https://landeta.lab.indiana.edu/ .  We are seeking either a Postdoctoral Fellow or a Research Associate.  The Postdoctoral Fellow requirements are a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field with previous research experience in microbiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry.  The Research Associate requirements are an M.S. in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field with previous research experience in microbiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry.  Applicants must be well-organized, detail-oriented, possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and able to work effectively in a laboratory setting with minimal supervision as part of a research team. The successful applicant will join a friendly and motivated team with interests in microbial physiology and genetics, pathogenesis and biotechnology and enjoy a collaborative community within the Department of Biology.
