Postdoctoral position in Nanoparticles/Hydrogels for Cancer Immunotherapy

The Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering research group at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) would like to invite applicants for a postdoc position starting immediately. This is a 12-month position with potential of 2nd year extension based on availability of funds and performance of the Postdoctoral Fellow.

Project Description

The Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering lab at the Department of Biomedical Engineering/ Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering at FAU is looking for a postdoc in the area of nanoparticles/hydrogels for cancer immunotherapy.

Our group has been working on nanoparticles and hydrogel for cancer immunotherapy. In this project, we are interested in the development of nanoparticles and hydrogel. We use this hydrogel system to delivery immunotherapeutic antibody for cancer treatment. More information is available on the Kang Biomaterials lab website: http://faculty.eng.fau.edu/kang/ .

The Postdoctoral Fellow will :

  • Work closely with the PI to develop nanoparticles and hydrogel.
  • Culture cancer cells and macrophage and characterize their behaviors.
  • Communicate the progress in scientific & project reports, at scientific conferences, and in peer-reviewed journal publications.
  • Assist training PhD and Master researchers in the group.
  • Publish papers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Have a PhD degree in biology science and engineering or biomedical engineering or equivalent academic qualifications.
• The candidates may have knowledge of biology, cell culture experience.
• Have experience in PRC, western blotting, immunofluorescent staining, cell viability test.
• Have a research background in biomaterials such nanoparticles, hydrogel.
• Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate in a team environment.
