Description

The research group of Prof. Wenlei Chen at the Physics Department at Oklahoma State University is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position. The appointment will begin in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025, and be for one year, renewable for up to three years depending on performance and availability of funds. The starting date can be flexible for a suitable candidate.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have a PhD by the time of appointment. The candidate will work on JWST and HST data analyses, and/or on gravitational lens modeling. Topics of interest will include, but are not limited to, transient astrophysics, lensed stars, lensed supernovae, supernova cosmology, nature of dark matters, and advanced transient-detection/classification algorithms. Skills in machine learning and JWST/HST data reduction will be seen as a plus. A background in gravitational lensing is highly desired.
