Position Summary
Project summary: The objective of this project is to identify novel brain and neurological biomarkers for integrative and non-pharmacological treatment of chronic sickle pain conditions. Multidisciplinary approaches including clinical neuroimaging and basic biomedical bench techniques will be used in human subjects and animal models, respectively.
Qualification: The applicant will be working in a collaborative environment of a strong research environment on campus and will have opportunities to work on wide-spectrum basic and translational pain and neuroimaging research projects using biomedical (e.g. fluorescence imaging, molecular biology, cell culture, immunohistochemical assays, circuit manipulations, mouse surgery or behavioral assays) and electrophysiological recording (in vivo extracellular recordings and patch clamp recordings in brain slices or dissociated neurons) in rodent models, as well as neuroimaging techniques (fMRI, EEG, simultaneous EEG-MRI, simultaneous PET-MRI) in human subjects.

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate or terminal degree required. Applicants must hold a bachelor or PhD (or MD) plus research experience. Experience of neuroimaging data analysis is strongly preferred.
The candidate is expected to be highly motivated and to have a record of publications in the area of pain and neuroscience.
