Position Overview | The Water Quality Center (WQC) at Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to start on or about January 2024 to May 2024. The successful candidate will work with multiple researchers in the WQC to collaborate on biological water/wastewater treatment process design and testing related to anaerobic biotechnology for wastewater treatment and renewable energy via biomethane. |
Duties and Responsibilities | Collaborate on water/wastewater research related to anaerobic biotechnology and microbial ecology. Help mentor graduate (Ph.D., M.S.) and undergraduate student research assistants. Co-author peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, proceedings papers, and/or conference posters. Be active in the scientific community and attend one or more conferences each year, preferably delivering a podium presentation or poster. Opportunities exist to learn about user-inspired research planning, intellectual property management, technology transfer, business modeling, start-up company functions, and industrial research. |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Earned doctorate (or its foreign equivalent) or appropriate terminal degree. |
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Experience in anaerobic biotechnology is highly desirable. Experience mentoring graduate and/or undergraduate students in a research setting is desirable. |
