Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.


Additional Department Summary: The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at The University of Alabama is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral position. Research interests and experiences working with battery management systems, battery modeling, battery testing and simulation equipment, software packages such as Matlab and COMSOL, and battery modules and packs designs.

Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in research. The College and/or the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department will establish a series of structured merit-based evaluations. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of productivity, meeting project requirements and deadlines, and availability of funding.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a closely related field.

Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge in the areas of battery management systems, battery modeling, battery testing and simulation equipment, software packages such as Matlab and COMSOL, and battery modules and packs designs.


Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge in one or more programing languages, power electronic systems design, simulation, hardware development, and testing, and/or electric vehicle charging/chargers.
