I. POSITION INFORMATION


Job Description Summary:
This full-time position is for a scholar who will be appointed as a postdoctoral associate to work closely for two years on research projects in close coordination with the new GW Alliance for a Sustainable Future. The research will focus on communicating climate change and sustainability topics at a time characterized by scientific uncertainty, competing policy priorities, and extensive mis- and disinformation. We hope to develop theoretical approaches to this topic and derive practical applications. This is a two-year position and is designed for a recent recipient of the Ph.D.
The associate will conduct research on projects of their own design, working in collaboration with other members of the Alliance and faculty at the School of Media and Public Affairs. In the spring the associate will teach one course.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a Doctoral degree or comparable doctoral degree in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
Desired Qualifications:
The person appointed must have a Ph.D. in communication, political science or a related discipline by August 1, 2024 and an excellent record of published research in political communication or a record suggesting great promise as demonstrated by scholarly works in progress and recommendations.
