Postdoctoral Associate Position in Pediatric Health Services and Implementation Research

We are recruiting full-time postdoctoral candidates to join our NIH-funded research team focused on preventing chronic disease, reducing health inequities, and improving the healthcare delivery for children affected by obesity.

Primary responsibilities will be focused on supporting the summative evaluation of two NIH R01-funded multi-site clinical trials using mixed methods including analyses of quantitative (survey and EHR data) and qualitative data and assisting with related dissemination (manuscripts and conference presentation), with opportunities to propose and develop ancillary studies of interest to the candidate.

Training, Mentorship, and Career Development

This position offers the post-doctoral associate the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in pragmatic clinical trial evaluation, applied implementation science methodologies, mixed methods research, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary, multi-site teams.

The post-doctoral associate will work with Principal Investigator Mona Sharifi, MD, MPH and her team of co-investigators and collaborators with expertise in implementation science, health services research, clinical informatics, biostatistics, childhood obesity, primary care research, and stigma and bias in care.

The position offers a supportive environment for professional growth, including mentorship, opportunities to participate in national conferences, and guidance in grant writing. Additionally, the position will include opportunities to actively engage with the broader Yale community, attending seminars and events as appropriate.

  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of qualitative research methodologies and protocols
  • Demonstrated experience with quantitative data analysis methodologies and fluency with at least one statistical analysis language (e.g., SAS or R)
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in teams
  • Preferred: Knowledge of health services research as well as dissemination and implementation science. Spanish proficiency. Experience working with large datasets. Prior coursework in longitudinal data methods, clinical trials and causal inference are preferred.
