Job Description Summary:
The Department of Prevention and Community Health in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate focused on sexual minority men’s sexual health within Dr. Derek Dangerfield’s PRIISE lab.
Our research advances prevention science and promotes sexual health among racial and sexual men with focus on 6 key areas: 1) sexual behavior; 2) HIV/STI prevention; 3) behavioral health; 4) health communication; 5) research engagement; and 6) minority research ethics. PRIISE addresses the diverse sexual health needs among sexual minority men using a range of methodological approaches (e.g., longitudinal studies, qualitative and quantitative research, secondary data analysis).
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will play a key role in supporting a 2-year NIH-funded prospective cohort study focused on HIV care outcomes among Black sexual minority men living with HIV and preparing manuscripts for publication. Grant writing will also be incorporated into the position.
The postdoctoral research associate will also have key opportunities to collaborate work with a diverse research team; develop research protocols and data collection tools.; collect primary data; manage and analyze large data sets; prepare manuscripts (first and co-authored papers), abstracts, and grant applications; and play a key leadership role in the team. Within this context, a major focus of the position is the advancement of the postdoctoral research associate’s professional development through a range of research experiences, networking activities, grant writing, and manuscript preparation.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a Doctoral degree or comparable doctoral degree in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
Desired Qualifications:
The candidate must demonstrate outstanding personal initiative, interest in sexual health promotion among racial and sexual minority men, and working effectively within a team. 
Typical Hiring Range Commensurate with Experience
