Postdoctoral Associate

Position Overview

We are seeking Postdoctoral Fellows to join our team at the Duke University. The successful candidates will be involved in the development of cutting-edge statistical methods and machine learning algorithms inspired by massive healthcare datasets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative statistical methods and machine learning algorithms for healthcare data analysis, with the opportunity to develop corresponding statistical theory if interested.
  • Conduct research in areas of interest including, but not limited to generative models for biomedical data (e.g., echocardiograms, genetics, EHRs); dynamic risk prediction models. Data harmonization techniques. EHR phenotyping.
  • Collaborate with Dr. Anru Zhang, Eugene Anson Stead, Jr. M.D. Associate Professor.
  • Contribute to the writing and publication of scientific papers.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong quantitative research background with proficiency in statistical analysis and programming (R, Python).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to write scientific papers.
  • Experience with EHR data, generative models, and natural language processing is preferred.
