The Electrochemical Materials & Interfaces Group with Argonne's Materials Science Division is seeking a Postdoctoral Appointee. The purpose of this appointment is experimental studies on metal deposition (Li, Na, Zn) and the synthesis and characterization of composite polymer electrolytes and solid state batteries using a wide variety of structural, chemical, and electrochemical characterization techniques.

Position Requirements

  • A recent Ph.D. in an experimental discipline, such as condensed-matter physics, materials science or related engineering field.
  • Considerable experience in analytical electrochemistry of the solid state batteries and in particular electrochemical characterization of composite polymer electrolytes and oxides is required.
  • Prior experience with metal deposition in aqueous systems and flow cells is highly desirable.
  • Considerable oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to model Argonne’s core values of impact, safety, respect, integrity, and teamwork.
