Job Description:
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Women’s and Gender Studies Program (WGS) and the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics seek a Postdoc Research Associate to teach one course in during the second eight weeks of the spring 2024 semester, to work with the WGS director on event planning and student research, and to coordinate research and outreach at the Catt Center. The Catt Center portion of the position will include supervising research interns and overseeing projects such as the Women in Iowa Politics Database, Gender Balance Project, Ready to Run, and student voter turnout initiatives.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.  


Required Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree
 


Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as women’s and gender studies, communication, and political science.

College-level teaching experience

Online teaching experience, preferably in Canvas

Research experience in women and politics in Iowa

Experience mentoring and supervising undergraduate researchers

Event planning experience

Experience in communication and/or public relations
