Job Summary
The Czuba Laboratory at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in Lexington, KY is seeking qualified, highly motivated candidates for a postdoctoral position in drug transporter research.
This work will involve in vitro studies on the regulation of bile acid transporters and protein-protein interactions using human biospecimens and mammalian cell-lines.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. in biological science with extensive research experience in cell signaling and mechanisms of regulation of proteins.
It is highly preferred that candidates have the following skills: Site-directed mutagenesis, protein expression in mammalian eukaryotic cells, protein function and stability analyses, immunoprecipitation, and quantitative LC-MS/MS. Candidates with these skills and a background in transporter biology and/or proteomics would be highly competitive for this position. The ideal candidate will also be highly independent, be able to work collaboratively to advance the specific goals of their project and contribute conceptually to other projects in the laboratory.
The UK College of Pharmacy is ranked #6 in the country. The Czuba Lab is located in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Lee T. Todd Jr. Building, which is designed to foster a collaborative environment and translational pharmaceutical research. Our lab utilizes innovative approaches to study transporter dynamics to understand the molecular underpinnings of bile acid homeostasis and the role of bile acids in metabolic disorders.
