The Baker School of Public Policy and Public Affairs at the University of Tennessee, seeks applications for a post-doctoral position from doctoral candidates or recent Ph.D recipients interested in a broad range of issues related to energy economics and policy. The Baker School has research focal areas in energy and environmental policy and global security, along with its instructional and public service missions. The Baker School’s Center for Energy, Transportation, and Environmental Policy (CETEP) combines sound science and thoughtful policy to address energy, transportation, and environmental challenges facing the state of Tennessee, the U.S., and the world. CETEP is an interdisciplinary network of joint faculty, faculty fellows and affiliates, research associates, and post-doctoral researchers. The Baker School’s research network extends to industry, every level of government, the nonprofit sector, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and outreach partnerships at the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, DC.

The successful candidate will work closely with faculty from the Baker School and the TVA on policy-oriented research in one of the following areas: (1) electricity markets and policy; (2) transportation and electric vehicle policy; or (3) renewable/distributed energy resources adoption and integration. Excellent written communication skills required. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in economics or a related field by June 2024. Excellent programming, data, and written communication skills are essential. Due to the collaboration with TVA, the post-doc must be a U.S. Citizen or Protected Individual.
