Summary of Job Duties:

The position will support the research program on improving food safety of poultry and pork supply chains in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and the Center of Excellence for Poultry Science at the University of Arkansas. The successful candidate will conduct research in development of innovative biosensors for rapid detection of pathogenic bacteria and viruses for applications in agricultural, food and environment systems. This is a non-tenure track position and is renewed annually based on satisfactory performance and available fund.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks: To design and conduct experiments, write research reports and give presentations at professional meetings, write manuscripts for publishing at professional journals, prepare grant proposals for continued research funds, and supervise graduate students in their research.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required – Ph.D. degree in a discipline related to biosensing and biomodelling technologies for food safety, such as biological engineering, food engineering, or chemical engineering, and experience in interdisciplinary research.

Preferred – Research experience in the design, fabrication and evaluation of biosensors for detection of biological and chemical hazards.
