Post-Doctoral Fellow – CAESER
Position Description
Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research (CAESER) at the University of Memphis. This is a 12-month appointment with an anticipated start in Aug. 2024, with continued appointment contingent upon performance and availability of funding. Post-Doctoral Fellow will primarily focus on conceptualizing the physics of groundwater-surface water interaction between sand-bottom streams and unconsolidated aquifers within the Upper Mississippi embayment to the degree of developing funding proposals. Additionally, exploration and pursuit of their own research interests is encouraged. The Fellow will reside in the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research (CAESER), and work closely with its faculty and staff. The post-doctoral researcher will be expected to successfully submit proposals to NSF, and other relevant local, state, and federal funding sources.
Required Qualifications
•Ph.D. in Engineering or related science disciplines
•A proven track record of publications on topics related to surface water, groundwater and/or the exchange between them in leading journals
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
