Posting Summary
The Center for Women and Work (CWW) housed in the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations, engages in research, education and programming that promotes economic and social equity for women workers, their families, and communities. CWW focuses on addressing women’s economic stability and well-being; women’s advancement in the workplace; providing technical assistance and designing research and programming for educators, industry and government; and engaging in issues that directly affect the living standards of working families in New Jersey and around the world. 
CWW is seeking a post-doctoral associate to work on a variety of projects including: advancing understanding about the state of New Jersey’s child care landscape; identifying research evidence to inform policy making and advocacy that supports working families with a focus on child care, paid family leave and income supports; how public policies support or hinder women and/or working families; and, other projects. Responsibilities include collaborating with the CWW team and associates on designing and implementing research projects, preparation of accurate and organized drafts of reports and related deliverables, presenting research to stakeholders, and supervising research assistants as needed. The post-doctoral associate will serve as a thought partner in helping the Center advance all aspects of our work. This position will begin by September 2024, as a one-year appointment with a possible renewal for a second year.
The post-doctoral associate will have an opportunity to work closely with one or more faculty mentors to customize a plan that will help prepare the associate to compete in the academic job market or in public policy careers.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
A Ph.D. in economics, IRHR, public policy, sociology, or related fields(s) is required.
Candidates must have either: Advanced statistical knowledge, including capacity to perform statistical programming and data analysis of microdata for the U.S. required. Experience with commonly used U.S. microdata (e.g. American Community Surveys, Current Population Surveys) is preferred; or, demonstrated understanding and experience in qualitative research methods, including interviews, focus groups, case studies, and content analysis.
Experience utilizing mixed research methods is strongly preferred.
Strong writing and communication skills are essential.
Demonstrated interest or commitment to advancing economic and social opportunity, equity and/or justice for women, families, and/or communities preferred.
