Job Description:

A Post Doctoral Associate position is available in particle physics theory to work on a project on particle physics phenomenology led by Dr. Rachel Houtz in the Department of Physics. The postdoctoral candidate will work to support the research projects of Dr. Rachel Houtz and is encouraged to work with other members of the theory group as well. The group's research interests include axion and dark matter phenomenology, gravitational wave phenomenology, BSM model building, applications of machine learning to particle physics, and early universe model building.

This position will be initially awarded for two years, and, contingent upon strong performance and conduct and availability of funds, may be renewed for up three years.

Expected Salary:

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have PhD in particle physics.

Preferred Qualifications:

A publication record in an area of physics that overlaps with the research interests of the group. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in a commonly used computer programming language like python, strong understanding of QFT. Strong verbal and written communication skills, leadership experience. International recognition of research, including invitations to give research talks at institutes in countries and/or continents outside the country of their PhD institute.
