Position Summary
The Indiana University School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry is actively seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the research group of Dr. Debomoy Lahiri, IU distinguished professor.
Dr. Lahiri’s research encompasses the molecular pathology of neurodegeneration associated with aging, as well as psychiatric disorders with genetic and sporadic origins, particularly Alzheimer’s disease (AD).
Successful candidates to be considered must have a passion for investigating the cellular and molecular underpinnings of neurodegeneration. The collaborative environment of the Lahiri research group extends beyond the institution, fostering partnerships with esteemed scientists on local, national, and international levels, utilizing multiple active NIH grants. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research, with the potential for publication in high-impact reputable journals.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct benchwork experiments using a variety of biochemical, cellular and molecular biology techniques.
· Utilize Immunoblotting, ELISA, RT-PCR, tissue culturing, iPSC, molecular cloning, protein & RNA techniques, immunocytochemistry, and fluorescence microscopy for experimental analysis.
· Demonstrate proficiency in manuscript writing, contributing to impactful publications.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the Department of Psychiatry and beyond.
Basic Qualifications
Requirements:
· PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, or a related biomedical field.
· Strong expertise in biochemical and molecular biology techniques and hands-on experience in immunoblotting, ELISA, RT-PCR, tissue culturing, iPSC, RNA-Seq, molecular cloning, protein & RNA techniques, immunocytochemistry, and fluorescence microscopy.

Additional Qualifications
Desirable Skills:
· Experience with flow cytometry, animal handling, immunohistochemistry, and confocal imaging.
