The University of Cincinnati Education and Research Center (UC-ERC) has an opening for a post-doctoral researcher in the area of occupational safety and health. The UC-ERC is funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and is one of 18 centers around the country designed to train professionals and conduct original research in the field of occupational safety and health. UC-ERC has components in the College of Medicine, the College of Nursing, and the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The post-doctoral researcher will be employed in the Targeted Research Training component of the UC-ERC and is expected to conduct research on occupational safety and health of home health care workers.
Job Summary: The selected candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health nursing, or occupational safety, or is pursuing occupational medicine residency. The candidate is expected to have research experience in one or more of the above signature concentration areas. Preference will be given to candidates that are planning to stay in academia, have demonstrated good communication skills (written and oral), organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently and within collaborative teams, and enthusiasm for occupational safety and health.
The position is full-time with a multi-year duration, contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued funding. Salary follows the NIH levels for postdoctoral trainees.
Candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents to be eligible for funding . The position will remain open until filled. Preferred start date is May 1, 2017, but is negotiable.
