Position Summary:

The Post Doctoral Fellow will

• Begin building an active research/publication record
• Submit proposals for external funding related to early intervention, early childhood special education, working with families, or implementation of evidence-based practices
• Help with student research
• Meet with postdoctoral fellowship advisor regularly
• Collaborate in further development of doctoral and postdoctoral programs
• Teach courses or help doctoral students in the Department of Special Education and Multiple Abilities

The University of Alabama, Department of Special Education and Multiple Abiilities seeks an innovative individual for a non-tenure earning Post Doctoral position.

After the initial one year appointment the position is renewable for a second year.

• Earned doctorate in Education, Psychology, or a related field.
• Completion of a research dissertation.
• Demonstrated emerging research agenda with strong beginning evidence of scholarly activity related to education or learning
• Evidence of submitted manuscripts for publication in a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal, as first author
• Ability to teach courses or help doctoral students in fields related to vulnerable children and their families.
• Demonstrated interest in models and practices related to infants, toddlers, and children with disabilities or other special needs.
• Participation in grant writing.
• Organizing and providing professional development (i.e., inservice training)
• Ability to develop and test measurement tools used in education, psychology, and related fields.
