Posting Summary
The Post-Award Lead Administrator for the Department of Medicine (DOM) is responsible for operating a customer focused Post-Award Research Administration Team. This team is synchronized in process and procedures with Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) and the Pre-Award Department of Medicine team. The objective is an efficient, effective process to manage research administration, allowing researchers to focus on their research.
The Post-Award Lead supports post-award financial administration and management of internal and external sponsored projects in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies. The Post-Award Lead Administrator manages a complex portfolio of sponsored projects; leads and implements continuous improvement activities; streamlines processes, oversees the development of tools and documentation of procedures for Department post-award administration; serves as liaison to internal and external constituents on complex internal/external policy, procedures and processes; oversees financial management of basic-science, translational and clinical research portfolio; and, assures compliance with applicable sponsor-specific guidelines, federal regulations, and university and hospital financial policies and procedures. The Post-Award Lead Administrator provides administrative supervision for unit Post-Award Business Managers and support personnel with the DOM.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in business/financial discipline with four years relevant experience required. Demonstrated proficiency with managing financial data with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in managing and administration of sponsored research grants preferably in higher education setting. Proficiency with spreadsheet, database and word processing applications. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
Prior experience with federal research grants and clinical trials highly desirable.

Special Conditions External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
