Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Per Diem Cardiothoracic Physician Specialist for the Department of Surgery within the New Jersey Medical School. The Cardiothoracic Physician Specialist, participates in all activities to the satisfaction of the Department Chair, and/or Division Chief. Incumbent provides cardiac and/or thoracic patient care to all patients requiring these services. Provides call coverage to University Hospital and/or any other designated outside facility, as required.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Provides thoracic surgery procedures to Trinitas Regional Medical Center.
    • All medical records should be completed in accordance with NJMS and Trinitas Regional Medical Center hospital policies.
  • Completes medical records within seven (7) days of the date of service.
  • Completes Medicare time studies or such other documents required for documenting services under the program and for documenting services as outlined in this description.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  •  Medical Degree required. 
  • Licensed in the state of New Jersey. 
  • Board certified in cardiac and/or thoracic surgeon.

  • Licensed in New Jersey
  • Board Certified or Eligible cardiac and/or thoracic surgeon
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Solid knowledge of computer software programs (Microsoft Office, EPIC, etc.). 
  • Must have excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Must hold oneself accountable to high standards of professional excellence.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking, and hearing. Must be able to lift or exert force up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
