Job Description:

Responsibilities include participating in ongoing curriculum development, implementation, and assessment; teaching assigned courses; advising and mentoring students; research and scholarly activity and productivity commensurate with progression towards tenure; providing community service; and participating in program and university committees as appropriate.

Faculty rank, tenure-track options, and salary are dependent upon the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. Tenure-track/tenured faculty may qualify for designation as a Binghamton University Faculty Fellow.

Requirements:

Ideal candidates possess a terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, DSc). Candidates with ABD or with DPT and advanced certification (including ABPTS) will also be considered.

Possess a physical therapy license and are eligible for licensure in New York state (required for candidates teaching in clinical practice areas).

Candidates must demonstrate contemporary expertise in any one or more of the following content areas:

• Foundational: Gross anatomy, neuroscience, healthcare systems and practice management, and evidenced-based practice
• Clinical practice area: orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, geriatric, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation

Candidates with developing or established research or scholarly agenda.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teaching experience, especially in an accredited physical therapy program, is preferred.
• Candidates with experience with the use of simulation as an instructional strategy across all content areas are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates with interest/experience in outcomes assessment are encouraged to apply

The program is seeking Candidacy status with CAPTE and has a targeted start date of June 2023. Specific start dates for successful candidates are negotiable and based upon assigned course load.
