The Physical Therapist position is responsible for providing Physical Therapy Services at the IU Health Center.

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Conducts evaluations ordered by Medical Providers to develop appropriate plans of care and consulting with referring sources as needed. 
  • Provides on-going re-assessment, implementation, progression or modification of treatment plan and interventions to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participates in biannual peer chart reviews.

General Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats patients referred for physical therapy services including proper and timely documentation
  • Provides services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease
  • Assists in updating and modifying procedures within in own working area
  • Examines patient's medical history, evaluates their physical abilities, determines their potential to respond to therapy, and develops treatment plans
  • Follows approved standards of rehabilitative care indicated for the patient's medical symptoms

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE approved curriculum OR
  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE approved curriculum OR
  • Ph.D. in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE approved curriculum

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 2 years in a clinical setting

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Required

  • Physical Therapy Upon Date of Hire
  • CPR 30 Days From Date of Hire

SKILLS

Required

  • Demonstrates customer service skills
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships

Preferred

  • Trained in the Graston technique 
  • Trained in Dry Needling 
  • Trained in Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy 

This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients. This role exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds forces constantly to move objects. Constant walking and computer usage. Frequent sitting, twisting, reaching, kneeling/squatting and bending/stooping. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$83,000-$88,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
