Job Summary 

The Pharmacy technician for the Partnership Comprehensive Care Practice (PCCP) Outpatient Clinic serves an essential role as part of a multidisciplinary team which provides patient care and education for adult patients living with HIV.  Under the direction of the Clinical Pharmacist, provides pharmacological support and education to the patient care team and patients.

Essential Functions 

  • Assist providers with prior authorization submissions.
  • Assist clinic nurses with medication orders through outpatient pharmacies for on-site administration.
  • Receive medication deliveries and maintain up-to-date inventory for specialty medications.
  • Set up patients for highly restricted specialty medications.
  • Follow up with patients to provide support for medication adherence and triage clinical questions to healthcare providers.
  • Help patients obtain emergency medication supplies.
  • Link patients with outpatient pharmacies for pill box/blister pack services.
  • Communicate with pharmacies to assist with insurance or other prescription related issues.
  • Perform medication reconciliation under the supervision of pharmacist or other healthcare providers.
  • Oversee medication refills.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Pharmacist.

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of a Hight School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, and proficiency with standard computer systems, including Microsoft Office and Zoom are required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of and experience supporting diverse patient backgrounds, including race, gender, and LGBTQ+ identities, and deep interest in advocating for marginalized communities and improving diversity, equity, and inclusion required.

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table.

Additional Information 

This position is classified as Non-Exempt, grade G. Compensation for this grade ranges from [$15.58 to $23.37 per hour]. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
