The Supply Chain Pharmacy Coordinator at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca is under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, will develop, implement, and monitor pharmacy programs, lead pharmacy practice advancement, champion variation reduction efforts, and provide professional development for pharmacists as it relates to care of the patient. Demonstrates individual commitment to cooperation and collaboration among staff and customers.

What's this role all about?

  • Develops systems to ensure appropriate drug supply chain, contracting, prescribing, distribution, administration, and monitoring of drug therapy outcomes for areas of responsibility.
  • Leads and supports multidisciplinary project teams in the development, delivery and enhancement of clinical,operational, pharmacy services, that are designed to improve the safe, effective and clinically appropriate use of medications
  • Serves as liaison to external stakeholders, vendors in all areas and at all levels.
  • Serves as a pharmacy subject matter expert for areas of responsibility and resource to operationalize pharmacy and medical center initiatives.
  • Responsible for monitoring drug utilization and drug expenses and implementation of cost savings initiatives.
  • Performs routine analysis and quality assurance of pharmacy services and implement quality improvement measures for improving organizational performance for areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains detailed documentation pertaining to routine operational SOPs, education materials and visual aids related to pharmacy processes and workflows in areas of responsibility for all providers as applicable.
  • Continuously improves, develops and maintains policies and procedures in compliance with applicable state
  • laws, regulations and practice standards for areas of responsibility. Complies with departmental and medical center policies/procedures.
  • Creates, reviews, and coordinates decision support tools and content to maximize best practice care delivery through collaboratively working with other healthcare team members to provide safe and effective services.
  • Uses knowledge of regulating agencies such as FDA, USP, TJC, DEA, IRB, Board of Pharmacy, and others;

  • Reviews reports for medication errors, adverse drug events, ineffective service/audits, or other problem identification for areas of responsibility.
  • Assists the associated Pharmacy Manager with performance reviews and improvement plans.
  • Pharmacy - Supply Chain: Responsible for the various financial management domains within the
  • pharmacy business operations across the enterprise which include but not limited to:
  • supply chain management, drug shortage, contracting, 340B Drug Pricing program,
  • revenue cycle/integrity, reimbursement, profit margin and new business development.

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy. Prefer PharmD
  • Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent practice experience.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.
  • BLS certification as outlined in the Pharmacist Responsibilities in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(C.P.R.) and Code Blue Procedure: Pharmacy Policy and Procedure.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Completion of a second year pharmacy management residency preferred.
  • 2 years working experiences in acute care setting which include exposure to 340B, supply chain and project management.
  • Working knowledge of contract evaluation and negotiations.
  • Working experiences with data analytics from various financial reports.
  • Proficient in Excel
