PGY1 Internal Medicine Categorical Residents at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at Holy Cross Hospital participate in structured programs to develop skills in all six of the general competencies as outlined by the ACGME. Each resident must demonstrate basic competency in these areas. These programs run concurrently in their rotation assignments but often involve patient experience on their assigned clinical rotations.

Supervision Received:
The PGY1 Categorical Internal Medicine Resident reports directly to the Program Director and is supervised by attending physicians at Holy Cross Hospital in all clinical areas.

QUALIFICATIONS
ECFMG certification is required for medical degrees obtained outside the United States.
PGY 1 Categorical Internal Medicine Residents must maintain a valid training license in the State of Florida throughout the duration of the training program.
PGY 1 Categorical Internal Medicine Residents must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) throughout the duration of the training program.
