Position Summary:

Identifies and manages projects to identify opportunities for business operations improvement, implements solutions, directs business intelligence function used for executive and management decisions, and ensures regulatory and other reporting requirements are performed accurately and timely. Responsible for overseeing the data analytics functions of the Behavioral Sciences Campus and operational performance improvement.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates and performs assessments of the Behavioral Sciences Campus (BSC) business operations via observation, data analytics, metric trends, best practice measures, policies and procedures, and regulatory guidelines to identify performance improvement opportunities. Manages initiatives to implement performance improvement recommendations. 
  • Manages the BSC decision support program for business intelligence: the collection, analysis, and reporting of critical data used by hospital management. Supports the administration and management of BSC's operations by providing data analytics, statistical reporting, and operational information. 
  • Ensures adequate activities and processes are in place to provide complete, timely, and accurate data reporting to external entities for regulatory and other purposes, including The Joint Commission, Medicare and Medicaid, managed care partners, and other organizations requiring periodic reporting. 
  • Coordinates documentation of existing business processes and business rules. Works with administration in a risk-based assessment of business operations to determine and prioritize process improvement projects. 
  • Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls that provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Certification/Skills:

    Lean Six Sigma Certification-IASSC preferred. Process Improvement.

    Minimum Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in business management, healthcare administration, informatics/data analytics, information systems, or in a related field required.
    Master's Degree in business management, healthcare administration, informatics/data analytics, information systems, or in a related field is preferred.

    Minimum Experience:

    Six (6) years of experience in quality management and statistical analysis required. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement. 

    Physical Requirements:

    Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

    Residency Requirement:

    Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
