A major focus of this recruitment effort is on an individual interested in academic pediatric hematology and oncology.  Our division provides clinical services across a variety of settings, so there are many options including inpatient and ambulatory pediatric hematology and oncology. The job description is flexible and can be tailored to the interests of the candidate.   The candidate will split the inpatient coverage, holiday, and weekend and night call coverage evenly with other Pediatric Hematology/Oncology providers.   Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching medical students and residents in both the inpatient and outpatient setting with our subspecialty team.   The identified candidate will also perform consultations and serves as a resource in the community for partnering hospitals.   The candidate will perform procedures which include lumbar puncture, lumbar puncture with chemotherapy and bone marrow aspiration and biopsy.  Interest/experience with a large sickle cell population and/or research funding in this area is a plus.  The expected rank for this position will be Assistant or Associate Professor, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience.
