Job Summary
The Office of Practice is accepting applications for a Nurse Practitioner for the Johnson City Community Health Center (JCCHC). The Nurse Practitioner will provide advanced practice primary care in compliance with the Tennessee Nurse Practice Act; document all services; collaborate with other clinic staff, clinic director, and preceptor; supervise staff as assigned; participate in quality assurance activities; and demonstrate a commitment to serving vulnerable populations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position self and balance. The employee must occasionally move (including lift, carry, push, and pull) up to 100 pounds or more. The employee must perceive and respond to sounds and alarms; communicate effectively with others; and observe and monitor situations and details at close range in full and dimmed light. The employee may be required to move and/or stay in a stationary position in various settings for up to 12 hours at a time in addition to the preparation and closure of a clinical shift. Rapid mobility may also be required on occasion. Physical expectations of an assigned clinical facility may vary and be subject to change.
Stress levels may be high due to frequently dealing with numerous students, patients, family members, and other healthcare providers. This position demands concentration and the ability to work in emotionally charged situations.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in nursing with preparation in advanced practice nursing (FNP, ANP, PNP, or another specialty as required for specific position);
  • National certification in the appropriate area;
  • Certificate of fitness to prescribe;
  • Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Tennessee or a compact state;
  • Experience as specified for each position.
