Payroll Analyst

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Reporting to the Director-Payroll the Payroll Analyst performs payroll administration function processing and adjust Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), State, ADA, and company leaves as mandated by state and federal guidelines and in coordination with our customer’s policies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor/Track/Process Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) usage, Maternity, Parental, Administrative, Military, Special and Personal unpaid and paid leave absences.
  • Collaborate with Leave management Department to develop and update FMLA policies, procedures, and related documents to ensure alignment with current laws and best practices.
  • Monitor/Track/Process newly established “Chicago Paid Time Off Ordinance”
  • Collaborate with Employment Services department on all paid sabbaticals.
  • Update promotions, transfer, new hire paid time off grants when applicable
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Directors (HRD) and Human Resource Specialists on completing leave information for seven (7) campuses.
  • Review, monitor and verify the accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions, records, and daily reports. 
  • Prepare written communications, correspondences, and reports, as required.  
  • Perform mathematical computations and enter data in the time and attendance system required. 
  • Research confidential personnel files to obtain employee data.  
  • Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.  
  • Perform related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    ·         An Associate Degree or sixty (60) semester hours of credit hours from an accredited college or university, plus three years of accounting, auditing, or payroll experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    ·         Experience with Microsoft Access and PeopleSoft’s (Oracle) Human Capital Management System preferred.

    ·         Must possess and maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional comportment.

    ·         Strong verbal and written communication skills

    ·         Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and willingness to work flexible hours during peak periods with autonomy.

    ·         Ability to manage multiple priorities, understand and attend to details, meet established deadlines, and provide excellent customer service to the college’s community.

    ·         Ability to work well with persons at all levels of the organization, including external parties.

    ·         Ability to handle all situations with tact, persuasiveness, and diplomacy.

    ·         Must be self-directed and able to meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy and in a timely manner.

    ·         Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
