Position Summary
PART-TIME
The Patient Safety Education and Outreach Coordinator is critical to the success of achieving the mission of the Nebraska Coalition of Patient Safety. This role manages the education and training needs for patient safety activities that contribute to the day-to-day and long-term strategic operations of NCPS. This position is responsible for developing and carrying out NCPS’ plan for education and training across Nebraska, and serves as a quality improvement program evaluation expert, serving as a primary resources to the NCPS workforce, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • General background knowledge about regulations relating to patient safety, peer review, and quality improvement.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and background.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal),
  • leadership, and facilitation abilities required. Knowledge of data collection, analysis, and
  • interpretation required.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and capabilities.
Preferred Education: Master's degree or equivalent

Healthcare related field. (e.g. Nurse, Clinical Lab oratory Scientist, Physical Therapist, Respiratory Therapist, Pharmacist) OR a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
Preferred Experience:
Training in root cause analysis, TeamSTEPPS, and Just Culture.
Strategic planning, conducting needs assessments, program evaluation, project management.
Prior experience working directly with clinical professionals, such as physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses, and allied health professionals.
Designing, leading, implementing, and analyzing changes in healthcare systems to improve patient safety and/or quality outcomes, preferably in a clinical setting.
