Physical Requirements
This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods, talking on the phone, or presenting on Zoom with a camera on, and performing tasks with repetitive motions most of the work time.
This is a 100% remote position, the employee must be able to provide a confidential appropriate work space and maintain internet to be able to do the job functions. 
Shift
Monday through Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manager and Supervisor, the Patient Financial Services Representative for Estimates & financial counseling is responsible for working accounts and screening patients for programs to assist the patient. The employee is expected to be familiar with the hospital and departmental policies and procedures and can utilize all resources within the hospital and department to accomplish assigned job duties. This position will also provide customer service to patients and families to help ensure that UKHC collects sufficient cash necessary to support healthcare operations via outbound and inbound patient calls. The PFS Representative will also participate in unit and enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. 
This is a 100% remote position, the employee must be able to provide a confidential appropriate work space and maintain internet to be able to do the job functions. 
This position is required to obtain kynector certification and maintain status. 
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will be customer service-oriented; possess in-depth HIPAA knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; have obtained Microsoft Office (including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) proficiency; possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience
Associate degree, third-party insurance claims follow-up/collections experience, and medical office and/or clerical work experience preferred; previous experience working with patient accounts and HIPAA regulations highly preferred.
