Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff. Must be able to move about in a complex physical environment.
Shift
Primarily Monday – Friday 8;00am-4:30pm, occasional holiday and weekends as need arises
Job Summary
The Assistant RN Case Manager Nurse Manager supports the RN Case Manager Nurse Manager whose human resource span of control exceeds acceptable UKHC standards. Provide supervision, occasional staffing for coverage, coaching, training, mentoring and opportunities for growth to RN CM nursing staff and assist in the day to day management of the care transitions/discharge planning.. The assistant manager assists with scheduling, payroll management, monitoring of staff competencies, evaluation of staff performance, and special projects as assigned by the nurse manager. He/she will serve as the manager for clerical staff as appropriate on the assigned unit(s). Increased supervision and staff coaching/mentoring is associated with decreased staff turnover and improved patient outcomes.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Prior management experience
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? Yes
Preferred Education/Experience
3 to 4 years of experience in case management preferred.
