Job Summary
The Hancock County School Based Health Center, located in Sneedville, TN, is looking to fill one (1) full-time benefited Patient Care Representative position. 
The Patient Care Representative provides front-office support. This role handles all aspects of patient check-in, check-out, and bookkeeping for medical billing. Key responsibilities include managing confidential patient records, verifying insurance coverage, scheduling appointments, and processing payments.
Eligible for Sign-On Bonus – $500 after 30 days. $500 for continued employment within the CON OOP department as an initial sign-on bonus. A sign-on bonus is not eligible when transferring or being promoted to a new position within the CON OOP.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job across various settings in the classroom, simulation, clinical, and/or community as required and/or needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position self and balance. The employee must occasionally move (including lift, carry, push, pull) up to 100 pounds or more. The employee must be able to perceive and respond to sounds and alarms; communicate effectively with others; be able to observe and monitor situations and details at close range in full and dimmed light. The employee may be required to move and/or stay in a stationary position in various settings for up to 12 hours at a time in addition to preparation and closure of a clinical shift. Rapid mobility may also be required on occasion. Physical expectations of an assigned clinical facility may vary and be subject to change.
Stress levels may be high due to frequently dealing with numerous students, patients, family members, and other healthcare providers. This position demands concentration and the ability to work in emotionally charged situations.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One (1) year of clerical, administrative, and/or customer service work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting (may consider relevant part-time and/or student worker experience).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare office setting.
