We are seeking a friendly and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our USD Sioux Falls Dental Practice for Monday-Thursday, 7:30AM to 5:30PM. As the first point of contact for patients, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and customer service skills. The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for managing patient appointments, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth flow of daily operations within the dental office.
Responsibilities:
  • Front Desk Management:
    • Greet and welcome patients with a warm and friendly demeanor.
    • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
    • Verify and update patient information in the electronic records system.
  • Patient Coordination:
    • Assist patients with filling out necessary forms and documents.
    • Coordinate with dental hygienists and dentists to ensure timely patient flow.
    • Address patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Billing and Insurance:
    • Process patient payments and provide accurate billing information.
    • Verify insurance coverage and assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits.
    • Submit insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Manage and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
    • Handle general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
    • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the overall efficiency of the dental office.
  • Appointment Reminders and Follow-Up:
    • Contact patients to confirm upcoming appointments and provide necessary instructions.
    • Follow up with patients on outstanding treatment plans and overdue appointments.

  • Qualifications:
    • Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar administrative role, preferably in a dental setting.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in using dental practice management software (e.g., Curve, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).
    • Basic understanding of dental treatments and procedures to effectively communicate with patients.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
    • Additional certifications in office administration, customer service, or related fields.
    • Bilingual proficiency in languages commonly spoken (Spanish) in the local community is an asset.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about industry trends.
