Physical Requirements
This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

Job Summary
A Patient Access Services Scheduling position at UKHealthCare involves coordinating appointments and managing schedules for patients within ourr organization. The primary responsibilities may include:
Appointment Scheduling: Booking appointments for patients, which involves understanding their medical needs, coordinating with various departments or specialists, and ensuring that appointments are scheduled efficiently. 
Patient Communication: Interacting with patients to confirm appointments, provide necessary instructions or information, and address any questions or concerns they may have regarding their appointments. 
Data Entry and Record Keeping: Accurately entering patient information into scheduling systems or electronic health records (EHRs), ensuring that all details are up-to-date and accessible to relevant healthcare providers. 
Insurance Verification: Verifying patients’ insurance coverage and ensuring that all necessary authorizations or referrals are obtained prior to appointments, in compliance with healthcare regulations and policies. 
Coordination with Medical Staff: Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate appointment times, ensure availability of resources, and facilitate smooth patient flow within the facility. 
Problem Resolution: Addressing scheduling conflicts, cancellations, or other issues that may arise, and finding appropriate solutions to minimize disruptions to patient care. 
Adherence to Policies and Regulations: Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, patient privacy laws (such as HIPAA in the United States), and organizational policies related to scheduling and patient information management. 
Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service to patients by being courteous, responsive, and empathetic in all interactions, and striving to meet their needs and preferences to the best of one’s ability.
This is a remote position.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience
Associate degree and at least four years of customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with patient scheduling, Epic or EHR highly preferred.
