Under the supervision of the Administrative Supervisor and Patient Access Lead and working in an independent manner, the Patient Access Per Diem will assist in ensuring patients are efficiently scheduled in the department. The Patient Access Per Diem will support multiple physicians. Assist with continuity and coordination of care by scheduling all patient appointments from consultation to follow-up. Using sound judgment, will independently set priorities, meet established deadlines and work effectively in a high volume environment. Will provide support to all Patient Services functions as needed. Adaptability will be necessary, as the individual will help fill in and complete tasks based on staffing. Main duties will be patient access related; scheduling patients for consults, simulations, or follow up appointments. Obtaining outside records and superb communication with patients.

  • Three (3) years of experience of administrative experience in a large, complex health case system or relevant experience.

  • Strong scheduling and registration skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills and customer service skills.

  • Ability to interact with physicians, employees, patients, and family members in a professional manner at all times.

  • Ability to prioritize, adapt to constant change, multi-task and work independently without direct supervision. Ability to anticipate problems, and ability to resolve them in a timely and professional manner.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area
  • Experience in Radiation Oncology or Medical Oncology.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $62,765 - $62,765 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.06 - $30.06

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
