University Communications and Marketing provides strategic leadership to protect, advance, and elevate the university's brand and reputation in Indiana and around the world.

We create guiding resources for and collaborate with communications and marketing partners across all IU campuses, schools, departments, and centers.

University Communications and Marketing, Indiana University's central marketing organization, seeks candidates to fill hourly positions for Part-Time Marketing Data Analysts on the Digital Strategy Team within the CRM team and Web Analytics and SEO team. The teams improve digital constituent experiences and help achieve university strategic priorities through marketing technology. Additionally, both teams serve as strategic partners to schools, departments, and units in transforming how we use technology to market IU. 

  • There are multiple roles available within the CRM and Web Analytics and SEO teams.
  • Provides valuable experience for anyone interested in Salesforce, Google Analytics, SEO technology, or data science. 
  • Commits to on-time delivery of all requests. 
  • Adheres to processes that ensure data security and privacy in accordance with university policies and all governmental legal requirements (e.g. HIPPA, FERPA, GDPR, CASL, etc.).
  • Manages, sources, normalizes, and joins data from multiple sources for accurate targeting of marketing campaigns.
  • May support the usage of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) through audience segmentation and campaign management.
  • May translate plain-language requests into reports from CRM and SQL queries.
  • May assist campus partners in Marketing Cloud usage as it pertains to their data.
  • May support a variety of analytics and visualization platforms including, but not limited to, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, SEMRush, and Looker Studio.
  • May translate plain language report requests into accessible dashboards reporting on the overall health of IU's web space, the progress of any high-priority marketing campaigns, and overall SEO health.
     

EDUCATION

Required

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student at Indiana University
  • Applicants should be currently seeking a graduate degree from Indiana University

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Background in computer science, data science, information science, information systems, or marketing
  • Proven experience in working with data and reporting, including strong Excel and SQL skills

SKILLS

Required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a customer-centered approach and ability to interact with university leadership

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other marketing technology
  • Possesses experience working with spreadsheets, large data sets, ETL, and visualization tools

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs. 

$15.00 per hour

Approximately 20 a week during typical workday hours.
