Part-Time Resident Director  (Pulaski, TN)

The Residential Director (RD) position is a live-in position with primary responsibility for the day-to-day residence life operation of an assigned residence hall on campus. RD's report to the Residential Life Coordinator and serves as a member of the Residential Life as part of the Division of Student Life for up to five years. 

• Assume On-Call responsibility for assigned residence hall during the week (Monday-Thursday) and for all residence halls on a scheduled basis, including Weekend On-Call duties (split among the RD staff) on Holiday On-Call duties (split as evenly as possible), with a maximum of 15-minute response time. 
• Respond to crisis situation in accordance with University procedures.
• Suprervise, support, and evaluate assigned team of Resident Assistants (RA). Conduct regular staff meeting with RA's, with additional meetings as needed, and provide opportunity for one-on-one meetings with RA's as needed.
• Serve as the primary contact for RA programming, including assistance in planning and transportation, and must be available regularly for such programs. RD's will be expected to at least drop by all programs in their building.
• Ensure RA compliance with Residential Life policies.
• Conduct periodic health and safety room checks of all rooms; damages detected during the room check shall be reported to the Residential Life Coordinator or the Dean of Students.
• Work with the Residential Life Coordinator to manage and coordinate room assignments and changes in the hall(s).
• Other duties as assigned by the Residential Life Coordinator to achieve the goals of the Division of Student Affairs.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• High school diploma or GED

Experience:

• Experience in the creation and implementation of student programming
• Experience in Residential Life

Preferred Requirements 

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

• Residential Life professional experience
• Experience with supervising student positions
