JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will actively contribute to a project that bridges Penn State’s diagnostic, research, and extension efforts within the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences (VBS). The project will be aimed at developing new tools for H5N1 influenza virus diagnostics and vaccination. This is a collaborative project that will be directed by a team of VBS faculty members. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the project and communicating relevant findings to all members of the team.
Qualifications:
This position requires a B.S. degree in an infectious disease-related discipline. Experience in research with negative-strand RNA viruses is required, as is experience with mammalian cell culture, transfection, molecular cloning, PCR, western blotting, and virus particle isolation.
